MATERNAL & NEWBORN HEALTH

Global Health Foundation supports innovative solutions to prevent maternal and newborn deaths, injuries and complications resulting from pregnancy and childbirth.

Every day, more than 800 mothers die as a result of complications from pregnancy and childbirth. (i)

Every year, more than 1 million babies die on the day they are born.

Nearly 3 million don’t survive their first month. (ii)

REPRODUCTIVE  HEALTH

Global Health Foundation is a founding partner of the Colorado Collaborative on Family Planning and Reproductive Health, which has developed a statewide strategy to expand access to affordable birth control methods and family planning services.

Today, more than 325,000 girls and women in Colorado are in need of publicly funded birth control methods and family planning services.

Recent federal policy changes and proposals threaten their ability

to access and afford those services.

Coloradans for Birth Control is a pooled and rapid response fund to support the right to freely plan our families (when, how many or whether to have children) by removing barriers for Coloradans to access – and medical professionals to provide – affordable birth control methods and family planning services.

GLOBAL HEALTH EMERGENCY RESPONSE FUND

The Fund was established in response to the Ebola crisis in West Africa and its devastating impacts on pregnant women and newborns, as well as healthcare systems.

Women are serving on the front lines of the Ebola crisis as caregivers for their families and nurses for their communities.

Overwhelmed or collapsed healthcare systems leave pregnant women with little to no access to skilled birth attendants or healthcare services during pregnancy and childbrith.

The Fund endeavors to address needs arising from similar health-related disasters of particular urgency.
